或者在口語中也有不給(某樣東西)這樣的用法
例如
He is drinking too much. We need to cut him off.
他喝太多酒了，我們不能再讓他喝了

cut sth off, to remove a part of something to make it smaller or shorter, using a sharp tool such as a knife
（用鋒利的刀具等）去除，切除，剪去
e.g. He had his arm cut off in a car accident. 他在一次車禍中失去了他的手
to stop providing something such as electricity, supplies, etc.
中斷，切斷（電力、物資供應等）

我們先來分析一下原本的動詞意義

Dis- added to the front of some words to form their opposites

pose –position

Dispose 不在原本的位置、使離開原位，意即講東西的話就是處理掉、講人的話就是傾向做什麼

How did they dispose of the body? 他們是如何處理屍體的？

Man proposes, God disposes 謀事在人，成事在天

回到今天原本要講的I am at your disposal.= I’m happy to help, just let me know (in a formal way of speaking)

你讓我離開原位去哪裡都可以，意思就是你要我幹嘛都可以嘛

如果講I remain at your disposal. It’s a more formal way to say “I’m here for you”, “I’m avalible for you”

其實意思是一樣的，感覺有點加強語氣或是再說一次

英文單字這麼多到底要怎麼學?

就是從根本的字義先理解，記最原本的意思再延伸聯想變化就會輕鬆很多喔~

補充片語

Disposable income 你想放在哪個位置都可以的收入就是可支配的收入(沒有人會想把錢丟掉吧XD)

dispose of sb/sth, to get rid of someone or something or deal with something so that the matter is finished

dispose sb to/towards sb/sth, to make someone feel a particular way towards someone or something

補充說明: 來去動詞

來來去去到底是要來還是去搞不清楚阿~

相信這是很多人的疑問

偷偷說我也曾經搞錯過哈哈

大家都是從錯誤中學習嘛!

舉例

你媽在廚房叫吃飯了

你在房間想說「我馬上過去」

要說I’m coming soon.還是I’m going soon.呢?

答案是I’m coming soon.

因為come是接近對方，而go是遠離對方的概念

所以如果你要出門沒在家吃就說I’m going soon.

另外再講一下大家常被中文主觀說法影響的部分

舉例

（NO）Where do you put these dishes? (聽起來比較像是你都把盤子放在哪裡?)

（YES）Where do these dishes go? 盤子要放在哪裡?

（NO）How do you sing the song? (你怎麼唱那首歌? 所以有可能跟原唱不一樣喔~)

（YES）How does the song go? 那首歌怎麼唱?

（NO）The clock doesn’t walk. (記得walk是MOVE ON FOOT，所以鐘要是真的走就可怕了XD)

（YES）The clock doesn’t go. 鐘停了

（NO）Can you help me drive my car? 你能幫我開車嗎? (叫人家當司機喔)

（YES）Can you help me get my car going? 你能幫我發動我的車嗎?

然後說” keep me in the picture.”

結果你黑人問號嗎?

這句話代表他要隨時知道事情進展

也可以說keep me in the loop/keep me posted

Keep sb in the picture= to make sure someone knows all the facts about a changing situation

或是當老闆跟你交代完某件事之後說

“Do I need to draw you a picture?”

不是真的要畫給你看阿老闆很忙XD

意思是你有明白嗎還是需要他講得更清楚

也可以說do you get the picture?

雖然大家都聽得懂，但正確說法應該是

這樣講他是先失蹤喔XD

正確說法是I’m going to visit my friend.

還有，你在公司有人來找你那種

再補充幾個不會翻成「找」的片語

其實很多人都用錯你知道嗎?

舉例

我睡晚了=我晚起床 I woke up late.

我很晚睡 I went to bed late.

至於很多學生習慣講I slept late.是很模擬兩可的

I slept late last night. 我很晚上床睡覺

I slept late this morning. 我晚起床

這些說法外國人可以聽懂但並不是他們說話的方式

補充，睡過頭 叫做oversleep

I overslept today. 我今天睡過頭了

另外late and lately，你可能以為只是詞性不同，但其實是不一樣的意思喔！

late, near the end of a period of time/after the planned, expected, usual, or necessary time

[adj.] He’s in his late thirties. 他快40歲了(超過35)

[adv.] I got a diploma late. 我晚拿到文憑(你可能延畢)

lately, recently

[adv.] I got a diploma lately. 我最近才拿到文憑
