Little, small, tiny 在中文都叫「小」
你知道使用上有甚麼差別嗎?
little and small 皆可指尺寸小
e.g. She’s small.= She’s a little. 她個子小
little and small 皆可指年紀小，但是用法不一樣喔!
I have a little sister. 我有一個妹妹
I have two small children. 我有兩個小孩(是幼兒)
It’s a tiny puppy. 這是隻小小狗 (tiny比small小)
little and small can also mean not important.
e.g. Why do you fight over the small things?= Why do you fight over the little things? 你們幹嘛為這種小事吵架啊?
再來補充其他也好容易搞混的字
tall and high 皆可指高度
It’s a tall building. 高樓 (有接地)
It’s a high ceiling. 很高的天花板 (沒有接地)
程度用high不用tall
He is working under high pressure. 他在高壓環境下工作
big and large 皆可指尺寸大
It’s a large animal. = It’s a big animal. 這是一隻很大的動物
big指年紀，不可換large
He’s a big boy. 他是個大男孩了
