我們先來分析一下原本的動詞意義

Dis- added to the front of some words to form their opposites

pose –position

Dispose 不在原本的位置、使離開原位，意即講東西的話就是處理掉、講人的話就是傾向做什麼

How did they dispose of the body? 他們是如何處理屍體的？

Man proposes, God disposes 謀事在人，成事在天

回到今天原本要講的I am at your disposal.= I’m happy to help, just let me know (in a formal way of speaking)

你讓我離開原位去哪裡都可以，意思就是你要我幹嘛都可以嘛

如果講I remain at your disposal. It’s a more formal way to say “I’m here for you”, “I’m avalible for you”

其實意思是一樣的，感覺有點加強語氣或是再說一次

英文單字這麼多到底要怎麼學?

就是從根本的字義先理解，記最原本的意思再延伸聯想變化就會輕鬆很多喔~

補充片語

Disposable income 你想放在哪個位置都可以的收入就是可支配的收入(沒有人會想把錢丟掉吧XD)

dispose of sb/sth, to get rid of someone or something or deal with something so that the matter is finished

dispose sb to/towards sb/sth, to make someone feel a particular way towards someone or something

That song disposed me very kindly to the singer. 那首歌讓我對歌手很有好感

She is a very smart girl. I’m sure she’ll go far. 這女孩很聰明，將來一定大有所為

on the go, very busy

I’ve been on the go all day, and I’m really tired. 我一整天都忙個不停，真的很累。

It’s a no go.= it’s not going to work./ you can’t do that.

補充說明: 來去動詞

來來去去到底是要來還是去搞不清楚阿~

相信這是很多人的疑問

偷偷說我也曾經搞錯過哈哈

大家都是從錯誤中學習嘛!

舉例

你媽在廚房叫吃飯了

你在房間想說「我馬上過去」

要說I’m coming soon.還是I’m going soon.呢?

答案是I’m coming soon.

因為come是接近對方，而go是遠離對方的概念

所以如果你要出門沒在家吃就說I’m going soon.

另外再講一下大家常被中文主觀說法影響的部分

舉例

（NO）Where do you put these dishes? (聽起來比較像是你都把盤子放在哪裡?)

（YES）Where do these dishes go? 盤子要放在哪裡?

（NO）How do you sing the song? (你怎麼唱那首歌? 所以有可能跟原唱不一樣喔~)

（YES）How does the song go? 那首歌怎麼唱?

（NO）The clock doesn’t walk. (記得walk是MOVE ON FOOT，所以鐘要是真的走就可怕了XD)

（YES）The clock doesn’t go. 鐘停了

（NO）Can you help me drive my car? 你能幫我開車嗎? (叫人家當司機喔)

（YES）Can you help me get my car going? 你能幫我發動我的車嗎?

舉例

很多人都有出國的經驗

如果你到國外機場不知道去哪裡領行李

請不要問服務台 where can I find my luggage?

人家可能會叫你去失物招領處看看XD

因為find叫做東西或人不見然後你「找到」了

正確說法是Where do I claim/collect my luggage?

再來

我要去找朋友也不是I’m going to find my friend.

這樣講他是先失蹤喔XD

正確說法是I’m going to visit my friend.

至於媽媽們最愛的上網比價找優惠

Search the internet for the best deal.

還有，你在公司有人來找你那種

Someone is asking for you.

再補充幾個不會翻成「找」的片語

find your feet, to become familiar with and confident in a new situation

It’s not easy to find your feet when you start a new job.

find it in your heart to do sth, to be willing and able to do something unpleasant or difficult

He cheated on me. There’s no way I can find it in my heart to forgive him.

find (sth) out, to get information about something because you want to know more about it, or to learn a fact or piece of information for the first time

you have a lot of nerves指你很有勇氣

“I don’t really know what to expect.”

expect, to think or believe something will happen, or someone will arrive

這個字一定要特別講一下，很多人都只知道expect叫期待

那這句話你就會解讀成「我不知道可以期待什麼」

太奇怪了吧！我們在講要手術的嬰兒怎麼會出現這種內容…

所以學新字一定要好好先理解 (可以參考老師之前寫的不要背單字)

正確的解讀應該是「我不知道接下來會發生什麼」，很好的詮釋了母親對孩子的擔憂害怕，這樣比較合理吧XD

Think 對你來說就等於思考

但其實很多時候不是這樣用的你知道嗎XD

其實中文想表達的是興奮高興的意思，比較接近英文的excited or hyper

所以不要隨便講I’m so high XDD

Highway, a public road, especially an important road that joins cities or towns together

像是蘇花公路這種

高速公路是superhighway/freeway(US)

要小心Take the high road不是叫你上高速公路XD

很多人應該都有聽過orange is the new black這部美劇吧?
meaning that orange is currently considered stylish, like black.
因為主角必須換掉原本時尚的裝扮變成穿監獄服是橘色，而黑色是永不退流行的顏色
“x is the new y” 在英文裡是很常用的(x is now cool in the way y was or is)
某事物成為新潮流、某個顏色跟黑色一樣好搭配
高年級實習生裡的台詞’Gray is the new green’也是同樣用法喔
通常實習生都是年輕學生green，但是老人是Gray
因為這部片請老人家來當實習生，是一種新潮流
